Love and respect filled the Convention Center during the 13th annual Community Fabrics Awards(CFA) yesterday. These awards are aimed at recognizing and celebrating community heroes in Craven County. Each year, three recipients are selected in the following categories: Individual Leadership, Business Leadership, and Leadership in Education. This year’s award recipients include Ms. Susan Moffat-Thomas(Individual Leadership), Trader Construction Company; Mr. Carl C. Huddle, President (Business Leadership), and Mr. Jerry Simmons, Principal of New Bern High School (Leadership in Education)CFA is more than just recognition and to date has raised over $500,000 in vital funds for Craven Community College and its dedicated students. Also included in the event, past individual leadership recipient, Ethel Sampson celebrated her birthday during the event and all 500 attendees joined in wishing her a very happy birthday. Paying witness to a room full of inspiring leaders, one cannot help but feel proud of the compassion, dedication, and excellence that defines our community.
