Stephanie Morris

I am Stephanie, the newest member of Donna and Team New Bern. I consider myself a Kinstonian, a Pirate, a New Bernian, and a Carterican. What does that mean, you may ask. Let me explain. I was born and raised in Kinston. My Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree was earned from East Carolina University (Home of the Pirates) in 1990. I have lived in New Bern since 1995, and have lived in Atlantic Beach (Carteret County) every summer since 2001. The road that led me to choose a new career path at the age of 55, is a long and winding one. After college, I worked in television production in Los Angeles. I eventually moved from production and became a talent agent in Beverly Hills, representing actors for television and film. Eastern North Carolina beckoned me home, and I raised my now grown daughters here in New Bern. For a decade, I was the physician recruitment coordinator for Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston. While my daughters were growing up, I spent most of my time (when I wasn't serving their chauffeuring needs) volunteering at their school and in the community. My mother and father had a Nationwide Insurance Agency for over 40 years, so insurance is in my blood. I hold licenses in property and liability, life accident and health, and medicare supplement and worked in my parents' office as an associate agent while my daughters were still at home. In 2017, I was offered an opportunity to help launch Social House Vodka, distilled in Kinston, and I am proud to say it became the number one liquor produced in North Carolina. Post the pandemic, I decided to return to my insurance roots and worked with Benefit Consulting Services in employee benefits. In January of 2023, my beloved mother passed away after a long, arduous battle with Alzheimers. Shortly thereafter, I was in an accident which resulted in a broken neck and my being incapacitated for 13 weeks. During that time, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, care and support from my community reinforcing what I have always known: Eastern North Carolina is truly one of the best places on the planet. During that period of recovery and soul searching, I realized that my greatest joy is found when I am helping others, and I believe real estate is the perfect way to combine that desire with my love of Eastern North Carolina.
